About Us
Philippe Gravel
LDT’s location manager has several key roles within a small or large-scale production
Multi-talented, Philippe is responsible for many stages of a production.
First, he works with directors, producers, and art directors according to their scripts and budgetary requirements in order to achieve a common vision. In addition to being a good listener and rigorous, the LDT director also demonstrates great originality and imagination in order to propose locations that suit the needs of the script, while respecting the various constraints imposed (budget, time, environment, etc.).
Finding locations is only a small part of the location manager’s job
Once the search is underway, the location manager must then ensure the potential of the proposed locations, negotiate contracts with the landlords of these locations and obtain all necessary permits from the relevant authorities.
The Scouting Location Manager plays a key role in the pre-production and production stages
Philippe is responsible for ensuring that LDT is well represented at all times to the various stakeholders (production team, managers of rented locations, citizens, merchants, etc.). He also makes sure that the production team respects the rules of the place and that it integrates adequately in the environment where the shooting takes place, as well as in the community where it is located.
